Up north for a few days and its cold! Started the Ex up to warm it up and after about 5 minutes it sounded like the EBPV was opening and closing. Is this normal? If not what would cause it?

to load the engine.. makes it warm up faster
think of a heat riser valve on Grandpa's Chevy station wagon..
same basic principal.. only the heat riser directed exhaust through the intake..
the EBPV just creates engine load..

I know how it works! The truck was doing it (im assuming) after it warmed up! Then it started to sound like it was closing halfway then opening. It was doing it fairly quickly. The whole process took about 2 seconds then it would repeat.

Mine used to do the same...even when it warmed up to operating temps. Is yours still opening and closing even when it is warmed up? If so, either the EBPS and or tube are clogged. the tube runs from the passenger side exhaust manifold up to the sensor bracket on the front of the motor. Remove the tube (IIRC it's a 5/8"), and sensor. Clean them out and reinstall. That should fix it.

Its normal. But keep in mind, something like 3/4 throttle will disengage it automatically, if you happened to apply throttle while it was engaged/engaging.

Throttle position does not disengage it. Exhaust overides the spring.

OP, simply wire that thing open, disconnect the sensor and forget about it.
