Is it OK to start a 6.0 with the EGR valve removed to help blow some of the soot out of the intake???

My spare intake manifold has been in the hot tank for days now and its finally cleaning up.

Hot tank of what? At what temp? Just curious.

Aluminum cleaner mixture, I can't think of the brand right now, I'll look tomorrow. Its at 210 degrees in an agitation tank. The carbon mixed with the oil from the ccv really embeds itself in the porous aluminum.
