egr delete question about antifreeze draining

do you really have to drain the antifreeze from the block to do the delete? on my other diesels i had i dint have to. i know there pressure but how much do you loose?

I just cut the stock radiator hose right before the mesh and put a coupler in there and hosed clamped it together

Prolly cu the hose is a pos to get to and to cover their ass if antifreeE gets in any open holes

Both radiators have a pretty small drain port. I think we used a 19MM socket since the damn thing is f-n tight. Get under the truck, find the outer corners and you will see the drain port. It will take A LONG time to get 5 gallons out.

That's no sh!t. Took forever so I gave up. It was faster to go buy 2 gallons to throw back in. LOL

Split the main system hose at the crossmember, under the front of the truck in front of the axle. It's got a quick connect retainer clip. Simple, and you'll have the primary side empty in less than 30 seconds. 11-14 trucks need to drain the secondary radiator system since it's tied to the cooler as well. I found the fastest way to do that was to remove the secondary coolant line at the base of the radiator and catch what you can in a bucket.
