EGT sensor going bad?

How would one be able to tell? I have an Edge CS in my truck and made sure it was all updated, and the only time I can get an EGT reading worth a damn is at idle. All other times it will be stuck at 140 or jumping all over the place. sensor taking a dump or electrical gremlins?

Mine was stuck at 140..replaced the sensor and it went back to working properly
