bought a f450 that needs a new engine and trans. found both. after everything is installed and plugged in will it have a no start security issues due to computers and sensors not matching the ignition and key and such? will it need a reflash from ford? thanks for the help. trying to anticipate issues that may come up.

shouldnt matter i think everything is the same, only issues can be found in dual alternators which then the engine harness needs changed to match

As long as it is the original key you should be fine, and that would depend on the truck too...I don't think the XL's have the chip in the keys like the KR's and Lariat's.

thanks for the response fellas.

all i got was a "regular" key with no chip.

lariat f450 4x4 needs transplant so no telling whats on the odometer.

lariat f450 4x2 donating with approx 102k miles.

what will the odometer show when finally installed?

It think the miles are stored in the dash so the truck the engine going in. it's going to show that miles that the Lariat 4x4 has the receiving truck.

It will show whatever the dash says. I think to swap instrument clusters there is a big ordeal involving the feds or something to make sure the milage thats on the truck stays with the truck.

Key shouldnt matter as the ignition and stuff will be staying in the original truck. The engine from the other truck isnt going to know anything other than what the ecm tells it. Like i said i think the only issue you might have is dual alternators
