engine wiring harness

Alright, I've read the threads on psn, but I haven't been over there in a couple years, and don't really want to go back there.
I know that some guys have changed their excursions engine harnesses over to the superduty style to eliminate the glow plug control module in favor of the regular relay. I think it's a simple plug and play, but I can't really remember.
Anybody willing to share any problems, or hints? Can I just swap from the 42 pin connector, or does part of the chassis harness need changes?
The ex is an 03 limited, my harness is an 01xlt
, if that matters.

I think you need a new computer too, along with the new hardware.

I think Joe (CSIPSD) did this to his wife's EX...not sure tho.

The gp relay is considerably cheaper than the price of the 02-03 gp control module. My gpcm has 185k on it, when it fails, I can replace it, or swap over to the relay setup, which I already have.
Additionally, I can move the relay over to the fender, out of the valley.

01 harness will not work w 02-03 harness's in general. You would need a 02-03 auto truck harness.

I would guess you need PCM too because the ex pcm is only going to know how to control a gpcm. Maybe its possible a tuner could change that with tuning on your chip, but I can't say that for 100%
