My tunes have the SD fuel mapping in it. When temps are low here, it'll start in high idle and then starts to lower as the oil temp goes up. Until recently, it would not go into high idle. Also on a cold start up and when the ambient temps are low, the idle will surge/hunt.
I just put the motor back in the truck last Friday due to pulling it out to replace the oil pan. Since it was out, I did PIS 175/80s injectors, Honey Badger Jr, Comp 910s, Smith Bros pushrods, ARP Studs and other maintenance stuff.
I jumped on the truck pretty hard which set off the CEL. I knew that the reason for CEL was ICP related because the engine had a slight romp after the CEL came on and I still have to tweak the tunes. So I scanned the truck with the Snap On Versus and came up with:
P0198 - EOT sensor - high
P0344 - CPS circuit intermittent
P0603 - Internal control module KAM error
P0472 - EBP sensor low
P1211 - ICP not controllable
P1280 - ICP circuit out of range low
The P1211 and P1280 were not a surprise either were the P0603 (had batteries disconnected) and P0472 (don't have the sensor plugged in).
What surprised me was the P0198 and P0344.
I scanned the sensor for the P0198. The IAT sensor read 26* while the EOT read 44*. The truck was sitting outside for 8 hours in 30* ambient temp. If the EOT reads off, it would explain why the motor will not go into high idle. Does the EOT sensor need replacing?
The P0344 has me stumped. I am running a grey Ford CPS. Should I try an International CPS?
Anyway I cleared codes and have not jumped on it because it'll probably set off a CEL until I get my tunes tweaked.
