Has anyone installed one of these on a 6.7 yet? I am going to be installing one on my 2014 shorty. Wanted to see what everyone else did. For anyone parking outside, these are the way to go! Heat the coolant from -10 to 170 in 15 minutes or less. Makes for super easy cold starts. Turn it on an hour before you normally leave, the entire block will be warm and the truck will blow hot heat instantly.

Has anyone encountered any issues with these? CELs, etc?

I looked into these when I first bought my 2014, only I was looking into the Webasto heaters (local shop is a dealer/installer). I really liked the product and idea that I didn't need electricity to have block heat (ie at work, jobsite, etc). Ultimately couldn't justify the $$ when I could buy the oem block heater, cord, and remote start all for less than half of the Webasto...

On edit: I see now that the espars are actually run by 12volt...are you worried about draining batteries?? The webasto is actually diesel fired and pulls from your tank (have to install fuel line)

Second edit: Disregard first edit...I see now they are fuel fired and the 12v is just to start them. My bad!

I've got one on my 6.4 and no codes. The cost is more than a remote start but repeated cold starts are bad for engines. I use it year round as I have a large piston to wall clearance and the heater shrinks that and reduces wear and it drastically reduces idle time which is also terrible for engines. It doesn't draw much power from the batteries so with 2 batteries you won't have an issue. I don't drive my truck much and I only have 1 battery so I use a battery tender to maintain it when I am not driving it for extended periods of time.

If your looking for connection points to pull coolant from and return to I used the block heater port for the suction side and return to the hose from the coolant tank. This allowes the coolant to fully circulate.

Good info. Good info. I work at a CAT dealer, I can get the whole kit for 840. Not too bad. Haha
