To anyone else running the ICON 2.0 Aluminum Series Monotube Shocks # 36508, what has been your experience as i feel these are too long with the stock F350 rear blocks even though it is the recommended shock by Icon. I originally got these as part of the stage 2 2.5 system and have never been happy with the ride in the back (bouncy on highway, bed bounce etc). Icon advertises these as a 3" to 6" shock but does not specify details on using with a leveled F350. Obviously with a F250 they recommend going to a taller block just like any other leveling system.

According to the site below, it looks like the 3" to 6" inch travel is in addition to the factory 4" F350 block which makes sense but does not make sense why they would come with a leveling system. Just seems kinda of like a last minute addition to a good system (coils, piggybacks, trac bar etc) to compensate for not having a stock applicable shock.

Calling Icon tomorrow to discuss as i have the front 2.5 piggy backs and love them but am disappointed in the rears. May look at swapping the OEM block for a taller one and adding a spring perch lift in the front from PMF.

Application Information:
This Icon 36508 Shock Absorber is designed for use on the rear of a lifted 2005-2012 Ford F250 or F350 SuperDuty 4x4 truck equipped with a 3" to 6" rear lift. This shock is too long for use on a stock height vehicle. Please note, the F250 and F350 come factory equipped with a lift block. The 3" to 6" rear lift requirement is in EXCESS of the factory lift block height!

Quick update-

Spoke with brad at icon last week and he could not offer much other than suggesting a revalve which after just getting them rebuilt last month left me with some doubt.

Anyway I got a pair of fox performance series as sorta of an experiment and must say first impressions are outstanding. Really smooths out the rear of the truck and the whole rear end just feels planted.

Not bashing icon in anyway as I like the other products I have on my truck but those rear ones are not valved correctly for a leveled truck.

Maybe if these foxes run there course I will rebuild the icons but fox actually charges the same price to rebuild these so may just end up selling them.

Sorry for the ramble and check out the foxes as they are 10x times better than the bilstien in my opinion as I have ran those and we're not impressed.
