I want to add a GPS tracking device to my truck. Before I go out purchasing a separate device, could the truck be tracked through the Ford VSS with Remote Access?

Or could the Crew Chief by Telematics option be added/activated to a Lariat or higher package. Or could something be activated through SYNC?

I know both need some type of yearly subscription. I prefer something that is already on board.

Remote Access does not currently allow you to track the vehicle.

Any type of tracking device would have to be added via the Crew Chief or similar aftermarket product. Ford does not offer those services through Remote Access or Sync.

Did you find anything out yet? I will be looking into this next week. When I find some info, I will be more than willing to pass it along.

We have them on our company vehicles. Simply plug the device into the OBD2 port and your done.

Concerning the details I don't know.... because I don't have one on my specific company truck.

All I really know is that its a $400 option from the dealer. Also, I dont think there a monthly subscription involved, but I could be wrong.
