Been running these for about two weeks now on gearhead tunes. Running the factory hpop at the moment which gearhead was supposed to tune for as I wasn't ready to upgrade it along with studs. My previous setup were swamps 176/146 with David's tuning as well.

With the swamps setup I was getting 18mpg on the highway. With my current setup I'm getting 9mpg.

The FF injectors are noticeably louder then the swamps were.

Truck runs great in the tow/economy tune, feels and sounds like crap in the street and all out tunes, no peddle response and less power.

Truck felt more responsive with the swamps injectors and more powerful.

Are these injectors normally loud?

Can my issues be due to the hpop?

Is the mpg typical?

No idea where to start with the tuning as gearhead is out to sema.

Thanks for any insight guys.

Throw a scanner on it and watch ICP pressure and duty cycle... They should not be any louder IMHO... However your going from a VERY mild injector to a fairly aggressive injector...

You went from a stock nozzle to a 200% larger nozzle.

I had FF injectors and had two tuners try and get mine to idle and run smooth and neither could get it quite right so i bought a set of PIS injectors and problem solved. FF may build good injectors and maybe i got a bad set but whatever the reason may be PIS has my business in the future.

Yea idle is rough on these but that doesn't bother me as much as the noise. If the answer is big oil that would be fine but if that's not my issue looks like a set of swamps injectors will a need

I hate quoting myself... but when people just ignore info...

Have you checked ICP pressures and duty cycle? I made almost 600hp on a stock 17* hpop... without any "funny" injection noises...

If your looking for new injectors, I would highly suggest P.I.S...

Going to a 250/200 injector..... does anyone expect tuning to be spot on the very first try?

Extremely small variances in tuning can yield drastically different results on large injectors/nozzles. In the way it runs, sounds, etc.... all will be affected.

Unless the truck has been live tuned, or there has been significant number of tunes and data logs emailed back and forth between the truck owner and tuner of choice, don't expect them to run properly right out the gate.

Just to get this part aired: If there were existing issues with the truck prior to the injector swap (known or unknown), expect them to be magnified. If there are injector issues, expect them to be magnified with larger injectors/nozzles.

There is a whole host of things that could be happening. First thing first, talk to the person tuning the truck. And I don't mean just call to complain, I mean gather some data logs, and sit down on the phone and have a very long, meaningful conversation addressing all aspects of how the truck is performing with each and every tune variance.

Anyone that does tuning for a living reading this, PM me for my personal home address to mail a check and thank you letter to....... LOL LOL LOL

What turbo are you running?

I went from about -17-19 mpg depending on how I drove with stock injectors to about 16 mpg with 250/200's

Soooo any answers to the actual questions

Your questions were answered. You said it's been two weeks. How much have you discussed this with your tuner? How much tweaking has he had a chance to do?

Fuel economy, noise, etc can all be tuning related. Or you could have a real issue with the truck itself.

I run the exact same injectors from the exact same builder.... on a bone stock HPOP. I get way more than 9 mpg's.

I drive way to much for 9mpg. Think these are gonna go up forsale

You have a issue somewhere. I have personally never installed a set of FF injectors that i had problems out of and i have installed many sets. Did you install yourself? Have you checked back over the install? Or done any kind of diagnosis on the truck before you go pointing the finger at the injector builder. If it is a injector problem full force will take care of you no questions asked

I just finished a truck with built motor, FF 350/200s, 72mm turbo and was running a adrenaline at the time. And averaged 19-20 on a highway trip. Nothing special just a sound engine, fwiw my FF 400/400s in my truck will pull 16ish on the highway.

Tuning plays a huge roll in taming 200% nozzles and is completely doable but they will also magnify any current issues with the truck.

This is good to know. I just put the crappy fuel mileage on the 200% nozzles. I'm going to be calling my tuner soon.

I'm running FFD 250/2's, i think they had 15k miles on em when i bought them last summer. I've now put another 15k on em. My set-up is currently a stock turbo, stock 15* HPOP, non-intercooled, single SD fuel pump, Swamps IDM, and tuned by me. Its taken a TON of time tuning this thing to make it driveable, but i also had 0 tuning experience before i bought these injectors and Minotaur.

My truck is no louder than a stock truck, if anything its a little quieter. Towing i average 10-12mpg's, unloaded i'm around 14-15. Truck weighs 7600+ and has 4.10's.

To me it sounds like your problem is in tuning. Tuning is a major aspect to injector noise, ive retuned chips for people that sounded like total **** and after new tunes ran quieter then AD's. Im running FFD 300/200's and a s475 and drove from Cincinnati to nashville on a little over have a tank in my ccsb with the cruise set at 82mph. I also ran swamps 175/146 for a short time after i sold my ffd 238/200' and was waiting on my 300/200's and they werent any quieter and my mileage dropped 2mpg i was running a 4094 at the time and figured mpg loss because of not having fuel to spool the charger. Id talk to the tuner before pointing fingers at injector builder.
