Freeze plugs

How important are new freeze plugs on a rebuild? If it's not broke, don't fix it?
or do it to complete the rebuild?

Cheap insurance they are pennies compared to the rest of the build. You should be able to pick a whole set up for like $30. Besides you can try and get some of the junk out of the block

I have no idea where they are even located (never paid attention) but it would suck to have to pull the motor to replace one that was rotted out.

In my mind a complete rebuild is everything gets redone.

I seem to recall Machinist posting information to leave them alone on a rebuild as the original ones are better then the typical replacement ones. Not sure where I read that though.
