Need advice but gonna be a bit breif I'm sorry.

Tore apart a miss from a dealer *** up on a 2007. Tore it apart to find a bolt chewed up stuck in the intake valve on cyl #8. Checked head, replaced both intake valves, cam and rollers check out fine. Do ARPs, straight pipe, and new injectors from I believe injection direct. Started pretty fast. Engine sounded great except for an unexplainable separate noise and the exhaust sounded like non vgt with a big cam. Thought that the sound was coming from the hpo system having air. Held 2500 rpm to purge the system quickly. It sputtered twice shut the key off but she didn't wanna quit. Ripped the intake off and killed the air to shut it off. Found diesel all over the passenger side wheel well and all ovrr the floor. We're thinking maybe a washer or o ring on an injector or just plain hung open. Agree disagree advice? TIA guys and sorry for being kinda short.

How'd the fuel make it from the combustion chamber to the wheel & floor?

I've had trucks w an injector hang open or a copper washer not seal and it hydro lock on fuel. Were all the glow plugs in? That's really the only way fuel could exit the combustion chamber that I can think it...aside of a crack

Forgot to add egr delete was iinstalled too. All glow plugs were in I figured the pressure in the manifold got so high it blew out of the connection to the up pipe but didn't tear it back down yet to look everything was hot and we had been working on it all day I was ready to go home.

I wouldn't think so.

Last truck I locked on fuel I did it at wot and it didn't blow anything apart. Just bent a rod. Lol

all speculations but is the fuel plug in the back of the head?I don't understand the fuel all over the pass side.or is it oil?the low exhaust note makes me question if the vgt is working right, getting oil pressure or maybe junk went through the turbo as well.one or two injectors not sealed wouldn't cause a run away I wouldn't think and when you key off the pump stops so it shoulda slowed down to the couple cylinders leaking fuel.oil causing the run away seems more likely

#7 injector didn't have o-rings or a washer

Filled up up the valve cover with fuel and blew out the glow plug holes

What's up guys? I'm present and accounted for! Now I gotta shower and get to the shop

Kudos for the speed on bringing this online so fast, good luck everyone! Talk to you all soon

That's why I asked if the gp's were in. Did it blow the threads out with them?

If I were you I'd snatch all the flow plugs out & turn it over by hand several times just to make sure you rid it of all the fuel

Glow plugs were fine. We took them out and cranked it a few times to push it out of the cylinders, changed the oil then started it up to have it run away again because the intercooler was full of diesel. Gonna drain it tomorrow and try again

started it up with no charge pipes and it had a miss. Scanner said cyl 4. Replaced injector. Still have miss and a code for cyl 4 but after checking the manifold with a laser thermometer all cylinders are reading the same temp. Any ideas?
