I am putting together another engine. I just bought a 70k mile shortblock out of an international 4300 series. I also have a complete superduty high mileage worn out superduty engine. Going to get the superduty heads rebuilt and put them on the shortblock.

I am also going to need the superduty front cover. I have taken 6 or 7 of these engines apart, and all of them had at least some scoring on the oil pump surface. I doubt this 600k mile front cover will be any different. Anybody find a way to repair these yet? Found some old threads about jb weld .......

It's about 300 for a new one. I don't think there is any extra meat you can mill off the old one but haven't looked into it really.

You can pull the alignment pins with locking pliers and then use a wetstone for sharpening a knife to clean it up, use lots of oil and make sure it stays flat. Works great, no problems, and it only takes an hour or so to do it right.
