I am wanting to quiet down my exhaust a little bit and get rid of the drone that my 5" flo pro has. Ive heard good things about the FTE Resonator but the guys at Flo Pro told me to put on the twister muffler right after the down pipe and it would quite it down.*

Do yall know which resonator would quiet down my exhaust the most? I know there*designs*are about the same and the twister muffler is 1 inch longer but I can't decide which one to order. Please let me know what yall have heard.

*Thanks,

Cole

I have a 7" stack up from flo-pro 5" and I put the FTE resonator in line and it worked great for me.

I couldn't fit a muffler under the truck by the time I had to 90 up to the stack, that's why I bought the resonator

i wonder if the muffler delete pipe is the same as the resonator ? ive noticed that without muffler, i cant hear any of it from inside the truck. but with a window down , theres a bunch of hoopla going on out there.

I went ahead and went with my gut and ordered the FTE resonator. How are yall installing them into the system? Using band clamps or just welding? I am not sure where I should go to get clamps to use.

im sure ergular exhaust clamps are fine. those flo pro clamps are by far the coolest exhaust clamp ive seen though.

Ya the flo pro clamps are very easy. It might be easier for me to get it welded on since I dont plan on ever taking it off.

I started off with a flo-pro 5" with muffler to a 6" tip and ran that for 7 months before doing a stack. Once I did the stack all my other stuff came off but I saved it so I could mix and match whatever I needed to achieve my sound. That's where my clamps came from.

I have a 30" 5x5 FTE resonator sitting in the garage that showed on Friday, will be installing tomorrow or tuesday! Will let you guys know how it clears up the drone from 1500-1700 rpms. I have a mufflered 5" flopro currently. May take the muffler out when I do the instal and check that out too..........

Crazy thing about the 6.7's... almost silent inside the truck, big fun outside

Thing about a resonator, you want to get it as close to the downpipe as possible. That helps eliminate any cab drone, that's the point of a resonator anyway.

I installed the 17 inch FTE resonator along with my 5 inch flo pro exhaust with muffler and it is perfect. It got rid of the drone and the exhaust note is now perfect. My old truck was a duramax with a 4 inch turbo back exhaust and it was really loud. With this truck I wanted to keep it professional since I about about to start a new construction project manager job.

I installed the 30" fte resonator on my '13, was so dang quiet I had to pull the muffler, and it's still to quiet. I wanted to keep the volume, just rid the drone from 1500-1700rpms. Maybe a straight piped exhaust with the 17" resonator should have been my choice.

Its a different application but Im running an FTE from Complete and the inside of the cab is silent. Im running the 30" version and I too wish I had gone with the 17" as it quieted the outside down to the point it sounds stock even with a 5" straight through no cat or muffler. Overall Im very happy with it though.
