Drop the tank...

More then likely the float is stuck. Happens from time to time.

Yep stuck float. You could try banging on the tank or go down a really rough road. Might jar it loose.

Now be smart about it when you take the time to pull it and open up the sending unit. Do the intank mode on the pickup and change out the fittings. Clean the screen bla bla bla ......Be sure to test out the connectors and the actual sending unit that its working. Then while its still down and the unit is out test it by moving the float and look or have someone else look at the gauge.

I know its sounds common sense but I have seen guys pull them think they fixed it and put it all back in and find out nope it was something else because they did not confirm it.

90% of the time its a float issue.

Very doubtful its anything else.

good call joe!! dropped the tank today because i have to drive it cuz my dually is gonna go in for some work and sure as chit as i popped the ring off the top of the tank the float pushed the sending unit right up and out of the tank... so for now i just did the in tank mods and put it back in the truck till i start modding it...
