i have a 2006 6.0 that has an in the cab gauge tapped into the factory test port. Pressure is at about 70 psi, and has the updated spring and new ford HCFM within the last 6 months. The issue is in the SLR tune at wot the pressure will drop to about 35 psi. In all other tunes the pressure will not fall below 60. installed the gauges at the same time as the tunes. is the factory pump not enough for the fuel demand for the tune or is there a problem?

theres a restriction somewhere, i ran a race tune with 190cc injectors and my stock pump with a shimmed regulator held 60psi idle and 50 psi WOT. How are your fuel filters (both of them)?

Some of these pumps i feel just arent up to par, but some of them can last for a long time!

You didn't say, so I'm assuming stock injectors...in that case the problem is the stock method for managing fuel pressure sucks, and the blue spring is a bandaid at best.

A regulated Return Kit would help. Ultimately a higher volume lift pump is in your future. Let us know if we can get you any prices on fuel systems.

Yes stock injectors. I was thinking the stock method for supply is not engogh. I'll look into upgrade fuel system.

There is NO need to upgrade the pump or under truck setup for stock injectors. We've seen the stock pump support 190s with a properly working fuel system. Far far too many people are replacing their stock fuel pump with aftermarket pumps because they read about them on the internet or a magazine and they automatically think "bigger is better". There are a number of compelling reasons to stick with a stock pump in a 6.0L or 7.3L, not the least of which is the fact that the cost of upgrading to a "race" type pump setup in a truck that doesn't need it is throwing away money you could spend elsewhere.

Always make sure you actually NEED more than the stock pump will support before spending the money...I talk people out of pump upgrades all the time!

If any of you want to pm me a price on a regulated return, I would appreciate that. On that note is it going to hurt to allow this vehicle to run with 35 psi? Remeber thats only when wot in the SLR tune? All the other tunes are just fine hardly drops below 60. Does have an in the cab gauge and I know the ford spec is MIN 45 psi. Thoughts?

I would keep it away from WOT in the hot tune until you've resolved the problem, 6.0L injectors do not like low fuel pressure.

As for pricing, no need to PM. Our kit is $664.95 You can find details about the kit here: http://shop.strictlydiesel.com/store.php/products/60L_RegulatedReturnKit You will also find a link to the installation instructions. Let me know if you have any questions.

:whs:

With 190s and on my extreme race tune my fp drops to 58lbs. I have the blue spring and 6.4 banjo bolts.
