I recently installed a fuel pressure gauge in my truck, i noticed that it only runs about 50 psi. A buddy of mine bought the riffraff "regulated return kit" he ended up using the black 70 psi spring. He gave the gold 65 psi spring for in the stock fuel bowl. My question is, is my stock fuel pump failing or should i look for another problem. I have checked for leaks and have found none.

50 is not bad, the poppet may be worn or the spring may be weak. it wouldn't hurt to put it in but you better have another sleeve to put behind that compression nut. I shimmed my fpr before doing the FRx and it smoothed out my idle...not much quiter though. HPx quitened my idle more.

well after the holidays im going to do a full rr system.. so by the sounds of things it will be ok til then... another question i was reading of ppl running two pumps in their fuel systems. Hopefully this spring I plan on putting injectors in and was reading that some ppl are putting helper pumps with a pressure pump such as a fuel lab. Is this a better system to run to help with the fuel lab pump's life span, i also plan on a 5/8 pick up line.

50-55 is factory.

60-65 is what most people set theirs to.

70+ is probably a bit high......
