Fuel Tank Question

So my truck is an '04 2wd reg cab long bed. It's currently being converted to a short bed 4x4. I'm shopping for a fuel tank but am not sure what I need. If I type in a search for an '04 tank it shows me '99-'04 tanks. If I search for an '05 tank it shows '05-'07 tanks. Problem is my 4x4 conversion is all '05 stuff. So I'm not sure what tank I need or if there's even a difference in any of 'em.

So does anyone know? Thanx!

If I remember correctly, a stock short bed tank won't fit under a regular cab short bed that is 4wd. Transfer case is in the way, I think a fuel cell will be required.

might need to use an Excursion tank.

excursion tank or cab and chassis tank would work too

Jacoby's post is what I remember hearing.... Titan tank or any aftermarket steel drop in tank for that matter could be sectioned to fit. Would probably be an easy fix and you wouldn't have to reroute fill tubes, or sacrifice capacity
