Anybody used gear alloy wheels. Looking at a set of 20x12 chrome big blocks. Didn't know if anybody had good or bad experiences with them. How well the chrome holds up if taken care of. Just looking for some input

Anything in that price range thats chrome plated will give you problems sooner or later. I run into that on Fuels and XDs all the time. The new "chrome" is called PVD. Essentially its like a chrome powder coat. Its not quite as brilliant but will never pit.

You are saying that PVD chrome holds up better than real chrome, correct? Does the PVD chrome hold up as good as a black wheel? I am MT, so wheels take a beating in the winter.

Yes the PVD will hold up much much better than chrome. PVD and Black will hold up the same. If you deal with alot of salt and road conditions stay away from anything thats chrome plated.

Let me know if you find something you like and ill be happy to price out the wheel for you.

I'm gonna call local detailING place later and talk to them about cquartz coating a set of chrome wheels. It's supposed to keep brake dust from pitting the chrome.it's almost like a clear coat.
