What are you conversion guys running tire size and gear ratio. I currently have 37" with 4.30. I grenaded the front to the point of needing a new ring and pinion along with bearings. Would i gain anything mileage wise to go back to the 3.73 since the CR makes way more torque. I have the factory 3.73 out of the axles so it would only cost me a few shims and 1 install kit.
Your opinions are requested

With 37" tires? It just sucks how you gotta be hauling ass to.get into OD. If you get on the interstate and cruise at 70+ it wont be bad. Hell, ive ran bigger tires with 3.73 gears. Im running them now with 35s and its perfect. If your truck.makes big power, its a no-brainer. You dont need to.gear like a.lawn tractor if you are making power. StgIIs a 38r and 37/3.73gears worked.great @ only 410hp.

Id do it if.all you have to buy is install materials. Go for it man!

OP were you running a storm last year in WV? If so I heard all about your truck lol. I don't think a 3.73 with 37's would be to bad. Depends on what your doing with the EX. What were your RPM's on the highway with the 4.30's?

Tycorr. Its been years since i ran big tires and stock ratio. I cant remember the RPM vs Speed. It makes decent power. Once i get the EFI live tune done my combo should net me high 600 to low 700 at the tire so power is not an issue.
Stroken, no that was not me.
Right now 4.30 gives me right around 1950 @ 70with the 37's.
That is about what a 3.73 with a 33" tire.
I am running 315's for the winter and it is up around 2200 @ 70.

Depending on the brand 37s.can be fairly close to a.35. My 37"baja claws were right at the tipping point for me to regear to a 4.10. I dont run much interstate with my truck though either. On two laners and in town driving 4.10 or 4.30 would be better, no.doubt. But.setting the.cruise @75 and cruising empty the 3.73 would.net awesome.mpgs. I got.nearly 20,.hand.calc'd in mine.with worn ad injectors.

Its up to you man. I.just think since you have a set of 3.73 to.try out id do it. Esp.with 600+ hp. That should.have no trouble moving and it'll build.boost like.crazy with taller gears.
