Did the glowplug pull the threads when it came out? If so, you'll have to repair the threads also.

My truck did that to Nate and the guys at Unlimited while bringing it home to me at like 5 or 6 in the morning last winter. I've got a pretty trophy hanging above my workbench now. LOL Not sure why it did it though, and been fine since.

Lol! Sounds like im picking er up in the morning. He said he used autolite GPS , I have a drawer with 3 sets of old motorcraft plugs, I will go through them and find the best 8, prob do o rings, swap a good uvch on that side if it needs it ( broken gp connector I'm sure ) hammer in the hole down and weld it up and run it. I was worried with 300k but he claims excellent maintenance and I'm getting it for $1750... He thinks that the threads are shot and that he will need a new block...I wasn't gonna tell him otherwise. Talked to a couple people who say it blows the guts out but the nut and threads on the gp body stay in. Idk I will find out.

Options : if the threads are pulled , do I Tap it and try to helicoil it, swap a different head , or tap and plug it ?

if you have a spare head then go that route to get it up and running. then mess with the head that blew the gp out later..

You can.. They area torque to yield bolt if I remember right. So do not try to torque them harder then the factory calls for..

I would tap and helicoil it. Head on. If it was my PERSONAL truck. Not a customers. Its worth the risk to me on a 1750 truck to try imo.

Im curious if it pulled threads with it too.

I put another plug in, it was a little snug going in, got pretty tight at the end, but out of fear of stripping it I stopped, started it up, it ran for a minute or two, no leaks, then pulled the plug , threads on plug were fine. I'm going to try and get one of those camera scope things and check out the threads on the head and maybe the piston too just in case.
