Good reliable diesel shop around Cincinnati, Ohio?

Had a post last night thinking I blew a turbo. Had the head mechanic who works on the fleet of semi's here at my work look at it today. He was certain that its internal, to what extent not real sure.

Preble County Diesel isn't bad. Warren County Diesel which i haven't heard much about, but they have a drag truck, and Unlimited Diesel over by Lancaster.

Yeah, i'd give em a call. I know a lot of the guys there and hang out with em at our pulls, and they know their stuff when it comes to Cummin's, but IDK how much they work with 6.4's. Good bunch of guys though.

I called them about studs and I wasn't real impressed. I asked if they milled the heads and checked them for flatness and they said "well we can if you want but we don't always and it'll cost extra" - I did tell them my head gaskets weren't blown before I asked if they decked them.

Fair enough on the Moremph deal, I've never had personal dealing with him, just seen him around the forums and had heard good things.

BpB, I have heard really good things about Unlimited, they are near you.

they are prob 45 mins to an hr away. I've heard they do awesome work with 7.3's but I am unsure how much they do with 6.4's. I was PM'ing a guy who is friends with the owner and he said they didn't have much experience with 6.4. Not saying they aren't capable, just not a lot of experience.

Nate at Unlimited is definitely capable of doing the work - they have done lots of 6.0s which are not much different.

Yeah, everytime i've been down there it seems like there is always a 6.0 or 6.4 in there with the cab-off. LOL
AFAIK they don't make custom 6.0/6.4 parts like some of the other shops, but they are going to be your best bet out of any shop in the region.

Haven't gotten around to it yet! There are 2 guys in the running for the job, that both have done work for on friends on mines trucks & have heard nothing but good things each way, they both would be doing it on the side of there daily job! I Should be ordering a long block within the next week & going from there, prolly go w/ which guy has the most free time to get it in & done in the timeliest manner as I'm hoping to use it as the tow vehicle for my boat memorial weekend.... :-/

Modern diesel

I had Josh at Modern Diesel do mine and his work and price was excellent. They offer alot of options and have custom tuning as well. They have my vote as the best in cincinnati on the power strokes. Not sure on rules but let me know if you need their contact info.
