this is for a coworker in my shop. Had an 01 7.3 come in from out in the field, where a field mechanic installed new harnesses under the hood, and then truck wouldnt start. New engine harness, new fuseboxes, etc. Well the guy somehow installed the pcm connector backwards (dont ask me how, we have some geniuses here). Anywho, once our mechanic found the harness backwards, he turned it around, said he checked the pins and all looked good and straight. Called ford and verified it was a 99-01 harness and not a 02-03 harness that was installed. Our mechanic tried a new idm and a new pcm too.

Now for the problems: truck is throwing #2, 4, and 8 contribution codes. Good Compression has been verified, uvch is brand new and has been chcked with an ohm/volt meter and verified power is getting to the engine harness, and he replaced the "bad" injectors. Truck is still throwing these codes, and is way down on power, and still missing. Im talking low on power to where it cant be driven on the road. I told him check fuel pressure and drop the fuel tank to check the socks in the mixing chamber and see if theyre stopped up. My only thoughts other than this would be maybe he fried a wire somewhere when he installed the pcm harness backwards? Or COUlD have gotten 3 bad alliant injectors... what do yall think?

Replace cps? Could be the issue. I think a bad cps usually throws a #3 and #8 failed code thou
