I did hgs last year in aprill maybe 20k miles ago
I put a gallon of coolant in the truck drove 100-150 miles had a flat
And parked the truck lost a gallon of coolant. pulled injectors out
I'm going to double check head flattness and block.
I hope I get to work on it sometime this week but I doubt it

ARP's should be fine...

but H-11 calls for 165 ft/lbs. I know some do 175 ft/lbs. They also recommend the peanut butter lube too. I'm not sure how the readings would be effected by using the ARP lube...

I kept puking coolant with ARP's even after the block and heads were machined flat, that is why I went with H-11's this go round. I did use the peanut butter lube too.

What gaskets did you use last time? You used the same heads and blocks with no machine work after it puked???

Why is it ridiculous it works and than can be torqued many times that way

Because they only recommend 210.... 300 is quite a bit above that. I would never use a set of studs a 2nd time that have been torqued to 300, but hey do whatever works for you.

So what's the procedure and torque spec on the h11s
I heard there's a hot torque?

If anybody's intrestead I'll sell one of the two and it will help me make my choice? Lol

I have heard that on a 6.0 (don't know about a 6.4) that arps will snap after about 3 torques at 300 ft lbs

I can't believe the threads in the block don't become distorted. It wouldn't surprise me if a stud snapped at that high of a torque with the new lube. Some people just don't understand tensile strength and stud stretch.

Same sequence as the ARP's, 165 ft/lbs some guys do 175 ft/lbs. They have a higher tensile strength than ARP's, thus the lower torque needed.

I'd love to design a hydraulic stud tensioner here at work for 6.0's.
