I replaced my cap.

FWIW, that guy's credibility is questionable.

whys that? from watching all of his videos he explains everything barney style..makes perfect sense. and has a master mechanics series that shows you how to do everything yourself. all the tests he runs, everything. he got 798,000 miles out of a test dummy 7.3. been on everything from veggie oil to nitrous..and showed exactly what the failure point was. I believe he knows what hes doing.

Ask some members here how important it is to change your HPOP oil as he recommends. Or Google Powerstroke volcano. If you'd still want him to work on your truck after watching that video, there's no helping you.

A $5 part will not save your Powerstroke.

Don't get me wrong. He's not completely out in left field. More like left of center.

ok i get the humor of the video because hes talking about volcanoes...but its a metaphor.(obviously) its a good one as well..and hes right. i dont see whats so wrong about it like he doesnt know what hes talking about..there is a reason why power junkies want aftermarket gauges. this is becuase the stock ones arent quickly accurate enough to let us know that temperature is starting to rise under normal conditions. 6.0s had major problems that no one ever seen before when they came out and there was so many issues with these trucks that nobody expected because the average joe didnt know the 6.0 and how tight the tolerances were compared to the 7.3...every single person ive taked to that has owned a 6.0 has nothing to say about it except that it blew up and they dont know why..its a piece, f** that junk...but then you ask them how they treated it..thats another story. maybe treating it like a 7.3 was a bad idea. thats why hes making these videos... hes explaining how these situations happen and why the typical owner does not see it coming. And why wouldnt a degas cap save a motor with a failure prone egr cooler and oil coolers with torque to yield studs? sure one of the two could be bad before the degas cap but theres a REASON for it to hold 16psi...like he says..it INCREASES the BOILING POINT OF THE COOLANT..that makes perfect sense. theres a REASON why ford motor company came out with an UPDATED CAP....I understand his videos are hard to watch if youre a master 6.0 mechanic and know everything there is to know but to the average joe who doesnt know much about the motor at all and how its very different than the 7.3 were used to, theyre helpful in understanding how theyre supposed to be taken care of and what needs to be done to help resolve the 6.0s issues...I was one of these people because i had no idea how much different and precise the 6.0s are compared to the 7.3...maybe yall are a better mechanic..but he isnt wrong..and he damn sure explains things WAYYY more than most people would even take the time to even talk about...much less post videos explaining it..who else does that????

i like the comparison videos..like the 6.0 vs 6.4 - helped me understand the regen process in a 6.4 thats for sure..never knew that. knew it regen'd but not exactly how and how bad it is for the truck!

Exactly why I used the words "questionable credibility". He's not a total idiot, but some of his stuff is a little out there.

I just did. LOL

Since we're getting close to April, I'm also going to let the winter air out of my tires and refill with summer air.
