Hey everyone, the family and I were all ready to leave on vacation yesterday afternoon when my wife asked me what the red drip was. (Rotella elc). I traced it back to what appears the rear of the passenger side valve cover. It was would also drop on the exhaust manifold. I decided to not tow the boat with it. I gave my dad a call and told him the situation and he let us borrow his bulletproof 6.0 that got the job done. He was wanting to take it to the dealer to get diagnosed. Has anyone sen this before?:fustrate:

Possibly what your diagnosing, you can make a pressure gauge to tie into the return line. Then run that into cab & check if pressures continuing to climb or stays & hold psi under load. Just a cheap way to check yourself, good luck. Jayson

I was just thinking, if it was a head gasket wouldn't it burn versus dripping straight coolant down the frame and dripping. We aren't talking a lot of coolant. The coolant on the frame rail was as if it came right out of the bottle? Maybe this is me hoping it's a bad clamp somewhere versus the big job.

Check o ring areas, under bottle that flows coolant to t stat & above & below rad. I got lucky once. Coolant will show around cyl heads/block & out degas bottle due to over pressurizing system rather than burn on blown HG from my research & experience.

check the heater hose in that area, where the plastic line and rubber meet. Mine cracked there years ago.
