I gotta a long story and I need a lot of help. I was having over heating problems in November and December. Tried a few different things to fix it. Didn't check the over flow bottle, but figured that was what it was. I ended up buying a 3rd Dodge and just sold the cummins last week. I changed the oil in the obs and it looked horrible. Gray and milky looking. Put new oil in it and fired it up. Let it run for 3 minutes and turned it off. Checked it and it looked grey and milky again. Drove it to the shop with plans on running an oil treatment and changing the oil again. It got to normal operating temp and stayed fine for about 15 minutes the got hot. Stopped at the beer store and the dang over flow tank was spewing the same color oil i described before. needless to say I have a scit load of water in my oil. I'm thinking it may be head gaskets? What do y'all think? Truck runs fine just gets hot and eventually spews oil out the water. Just wondering what y'all think . If so I'm going to do new arp studs, gaskets, and injectors. Probably an upgraded hpop as well.

I would say head gasket as well. Compression/leak down test would be a good start.

Injector cups could be it, but I don't think it would cause it to over heat.

Have you replaced the oil cooler?

Head gasket failures of this sort is very uncommon.

Clasic symptoms of oil cooler not head gaskets. Take it off and get it tested before tearing into the engine. You got to remember oil psi is 60 or so and coolant is 12-16.
When the engine is running its going to fill the cooling system with oil. Then when you shut it off the coolant goes the other way, into the base.
I wouldn't run it any more, your running the risk of wiping the crank.

OK I plan to get that oil cooler out this weekend hopefully. That shouldn't be to much of a PITA is it?
