I like to pull the hose off the waterpump and fill slowly with the truck pointing up hill as all the air wil be purged to the front of the engine and out the top radiator hose and heater core hose as an escape route. then as collant starts coming out the heater core hose ill hook it up and keep filling till it comes out the top radiator hose then hook that up and top off. never get an air pocket that way.
