My buddy just took his truck to the dealer to have gaskets replaced, told him he should get new head studs as well, but i dont know if this will make much of a difference with it not blowing the gaskets again, and if we decide to put studs in can it be done without removing the heads and damaging the gaskets?

If the dealer is willing to install them then I'd definitely do it. It helps keep from having to go back an do the job again

:whs:Are you 100% sure the heads aren't warped? 90% of the time they warp on a 6.0 If ford will install the studs I would definitely do that so he's not having the issue again in 6 months. Studs can be done without removing the heads and putting them in one at a time although there's a lot of horror storys about people doing that.

Having the dealer just put studs in is just a waste of time IMO. They're not going to deck the heads for him, so what's the point? If he could get them to do that, then heck yeah go for it, haven't found a dealer yet willing to do that (at least under warranty). They'll replace a head if it's "out of spec" but some of the new one's aren't flat either...

No I wouldn't put them in one at a time either...
