Head Studs

Do you guys install the head studs without pulling the engine down on the 6.4? Got a guy that wants studs and I wouldn't do it on a 6.0 without pulling the heads off, but is a 6.4 ok. Has tuned the truck about a 250 tune but wants more, no signs of puking at this time.

if the HG are good then they can be APR'd one stud at a time.

If he is paying you, I'd tear it all the way down. Or make him sign a waiver stating if the gaskets fail your not liable.

There is no way of seeing if the gaskets are already starting to leak. If they are slightly damaged and you do one stud at a time, it's only a matter of time until they completely start pressuring the cooling system. Just trying to look out for ya.

I would never do a stud jub without getting the heads checked out.

Thanks for the heads up, I know with a 6.0 I would not do the job without pulling the heads, this is really no different.
