Hello all,
Long time lurker, first post. My names Doug, live in virginia. Finally decided to introduce myself. I love this site - I've had a lot of questions, but the search feature has answered them all!
Last year I bought a 1996 extra cab long bed, auto, 4x4. I am an auto technician by trade, still getting used to working on the ole 7.3. The only mods that I've done are a 3 inch DP to 5 inch diamond eye (what a difference in power and fuel mileage that made!), a Derale trans pan, and an AFE rear diff cover. It came with an AFE intake. If there's any internal mods, I don't know about them, as I purchased it used from a dealer.
One of the few questions that I have that have not found the answer to, does anyone know what the name of the color is? The paint code that is on the door is: KU74, which comes up as indigo blue metallic on every touch up paint I've looked at. But unfortunately they all come out to be just a little off.... Any ideas? I may end up going to a body shop and having them match it with their machine. Me and the guys at work tried to figure out if it was repainted. We don't believe it was, everything matches.
Take care,
Doug
