Hello all,

Fresh boot with a problem I need help with. Noticed substantial play in the front axle shaft on the right hub and can move the yoke about 1/2" in all directions. Truck has 105k miles on it. Is this something a weekend mechanic can tackle? If I can at least identify what maybe worn out I can search for a possible repair instruction. That is for everyones help.

I would say something has gone bad in you hub as that holds the outer stub shaft.

Are you still running stock lockout hubs? There are issues with an idler bearing in them seizing and turning the axles while not in 4x4, sometimes at twice ground speed backwards if the stars line up wrong....

Thanks for the reply Bigboytoys. Its been a difficult search, but I think it might be a worn out needle bearing. The truck still has stock hubs and seem to be operating correctly. ESOF works and both short shafts spin free when hubs are in auto.
