Hey guys and gals I'm having a problem. I installed a BTS twin pump setup and I think my LPOP is having trouble keeping up. Cold start the engine starts immediately runs no problem. Once hot the gauge in the cab fluctuates at idle. Just above idle the gauge sits perfectly still at the m on normal and the truck stays running but when I let it sit At idle goes crazy again. If when hot I shut it off it won't restart. I'm thinking once the oil heats up it thins out and the LPOP just can't push the thinner oil due to tolerance issues. Any ideas or a place to start would be a great help thanks

Have you checked to see if the HPOP system is building enough pressure at cranking when hot to start?

Trucks start without really any pressure built up yet if the reservoir is full.

The truck starts and runs ok until it heats up and at that point I'm assuming the oil heats up and loses viscosity bc then the low pressure side drops while running but the high side is ok. I turn off the truck and then it won't start. Woul this be a LPOP problem? Or are my assumptions off base? Thanks Tom

Yep. I'm thinking IPR o rings too. Had the same problem here. Once its warm it stays running but if you shut it off it won't start again? Yep, IPR o rings.

I checked and even replaced the orings still the same problem. Replaced with the dieselsite HV LPOP problem solved! I think the old pump was just done and the twins sent it over the edge. Thank you for all of your direction and help guys.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. It was the HPOP O rings where the lines connected to the pump. Check to see if there is any oil in the valley. If there is clean it with simple green and follw the leak to the source. My truck was having a hiccup and could not figure it out last week. Cleaned it up turns out it was the ICP o-ring. start simple.
