either going with compounds or a MTW stage 3 turbo here soon with a set of 190/100s or maybe i will swap them for hybrids, anyhow, how much hp can a stock (studded) 6.0 take hp wise somewhat reliably?

also what is the highest dynod number on a stock blocked 6.0?

Some say 700 some say 1000. When you get that high in the hp range they become iffy. With the setup you mentioned you'll be fine. Big compounds and hybrids...could be pushing the line

Low end torque kills rods, 6.0s cant make the torque down low like other models can. Id say anything over 600 realistically can ruin your day, but i know 700+ trucks rollig around with no issues.

I'd say if you beat your truck around at 700-750 on a frequent basis, especially from a dig on the street or the track, expect a knock, or exodus of a rod soon to follow.

:lookaround:

ill be running 250 hybrids and a 63/80...I hope it stays together. maybe I should stick with the smaller conventionals after all

get some bigger oil and run a 225 conventional, and you will make more power.

unless you plan on spraying?

no spray for me. I would have done more oil but I don't want to wait for an 05+ HV pump, don't want to swap everything for an 03-04 pump, and don't want to fab (have someone else) up a dual pump kit to fit with compounds. plus...I'd rather NOT puke a rod so I'm OK with not maximizing power with conventionals haha.
