Night shades works great! Don't sand or scuff the lights at all the paint is made to adhere to the plastic. Best bet it so wipe the lights down with alcohol to remove any grease or oils. Start out with a light dusting wait about five mins and re spray with several light coats (about 3 to 5 mins between coats)till you reach the look your going for. Nite shades does tend to loose its gloss over the years so another good tip is to go a bit lighter than you planed the first time that way you can freshen them up down the road. I have been using this stuff for years on all of my vehicles. As long as you take your time and use thin coats it come out looking great!

I used it on my mirror lights and they came out great. It's easy to get too dark quickly, so be careful.

Best way to do it is to pay a professional painter.

Next best would be to use the niteshades if you just want to do it on your own. That's how I did mine, but they seem to have gotten lighter than they were when I did mine. Just clean the lights good, and spray on the niteshades. If you use a good clear and apply it pretty thick you can get it glossy enough to not need to sand anything. Just use light coats of the niteshades and add it until you get it where you want, another thing is it appears darker indoors than out.

If I were doing it over, I'd just pay someone to do it. Side by side you can tell the ones that were done right.

Nightshades will fade. If you go that route I would clear them with a good automotive clear cloat.

I prefer base/clear coctail but the darkness can be tricky as your mixture and coats change everything.

Definitely use a good UV protectant clear over the VHT. Duplicolor Perfect Match works pretty well, but not the enamel clear. Ive done several sets that havent faded at all.
