How to tell if my truck has posi?

What the title says w/out lighting up the tires? I do know I have a 3.73 limited slip!

look on the ID tag on the diff hanging off one of the pumpkin cover bolts. For an open diff it should say 3.73. For a posi it should say 3L73

Worst case, just toss a jack under the rear diff and see if you and a buddy encounter any resistance trying to turn the tires in opposite directions.

Gonna be pretty bummed if it's not, 1 wheel burn outs could quite possibly be the lamest thing on earth!!!

jack up rear. put tranny in neutral. spin wheel. if they spin in same direction its a posi. opposite directions its open.

With the trans in neutral an open might just spin the driveshaft and spin in the same direction too if the trans spins easily, like a manual.

In case anyone knew jegs has eaton/Detroit truetrac differentials for like 520 bucks.... I avoid burnouts at the moment due to my one wheel peelers :-(
