Hard crank hot or cold. Runs fine after cranked up. I'm getting 0.2V ICP with key on engine off. And no oil pressure on the dummy gauge on dash. I can watch the icpV climb 0.1 at a time until 0.5 then it starts running. Its idling at ~0.8
Shut the truck off and immediately turn key back on and its 0.2V. Ficm always reads 50V+. Idles ~690rpm.

Any ideas?

I had a buddies truck do that as well. Turns out it was his starter the whole time. We even had it tested and it passed. But we threw a new in and it ended up being the issue.

Get your batteries load tested, not a voltage check either. Sounds like a leak, my truck did the same thing before i did my stand pipes, pulling the oil rails 6 or 7 times takes its toll on them. Lol

not saying its impossible, but the batteries are brand new. i replaced them because of cold start issues a few weeks ago when it actually was cold. it doesnt feel like the same kind of cold start.

i was just really hoping i wouldnt have to go into the motor until i was putting injectors in lol. but im pretty sure i have a set of new standpipes and dummy plugs.

Twisted diesel is right down the road from you. Im sure they wouldnt mind hookin up IDS to it and tell you whats going on while it cranks over. That will make it easy.

Sounds like a starter, but another thing to check that I've seen a couple of here lately is a/c compressors either locked up, or locking up causing this.

Had one at our shop do the same thing. The boss looked it over for a good day or two, i mentioned checking to see if it had a froze up pulley or compressor he looked at me like i was retarted. Turns out the ac compressor was siezed up. Another thing to look into.

Now I have no start when hot. Getting 300psi with ICP plugged in. Unplug ICP sensor and it reads 720psi cranking but won't fire. If it sits a long time it will crank up but its a long crank, enough I can watch pressure build on insight before it fires.

So with the engine off key on it shows 300psi for icp? That woul be ok if you have been trying to start it. But if it shows that after sitting a while or on a cold start your icp sensor is bad. It's basically telling the computer that you have 600 psi when you really only have 300 which is not enough to start the engine. The computer will hold back the ipr and prevent it from building required pressure. Check and see what the ipr duty cycle is.

its building 300psi icp while im cranking it. if i stop cranking it drops to 0psi icp.

i had no choice but to take it to the stealership today :/

didnt like it but they were the only ones who could work on it this weekend. they told me from what they think, that its a hpo leak and most likely the dummy plug o-rings. ill find out saturday.

Injector O rings for me. Sounds like I may have a bigger problem though since its eating O rings off all 8. Hopefully Jesse warren can help us out. The dummy plugs on the HPOP have already been updated on my truck so hopefully that's all it is in yours. That'd be easy.

apparently it was a leaky standpipe. got it replaced and it cranks when hot but still have a long crank. got the starter checked at autozone and checked out good but they said the alternator is going out. so thats next on the list. if not that, im moving on to replacing the a/c compressor.

edit: also said i have power balance issue on #1 and #2 injector.
