Well ran into an issue tonight as I attempted to change out my HPOP from my stock one to a Honey Badger pump from Dyno Proven. I acquired a SRP pump and sent it to them to go through and convert to their Honey Badger pump. When Dyno Proven sent me the pump back they replaced the JIC fittings for the lines that were sent in with the pump to the STC fittings found on the Super Duty trucks. I thought not a big deal I'll just pull off the JIC fittings on my stock pump in the truck and swap them over. I get my stock pump removed, pull the fittings and then go to pull the STC fittings off the Honey Badger and realize I have problem. The JIC fittings on my stock pump for the lines going to the heads thread into the housing with -06 ORB threads and the Honey Badger pump came back with -08 ORB threads in the housing. I have not dealt with many HPOPs just on OBS trucks but aren't all the 7.3 HPOP from the OBS and Super Duty trucks threaded the same size (-06 ORB) into the housing for the lines just JIC on the other end for OBS and STC for Super Duty? I'm thinking Dyno Proven bored out the threads in the housing to -08 ORB for some reason. Anyone ever convert their OBS over to run the Super Duty lines with STC fittings? I'm thinking my best bet though will be to go to House of Hose on Monday and try to source JIC fittings for my lines with -08 ORB threads on the other end to work with the Honey Badger pump I have.

Did you call them to clarify what was done? Or just trying to call them out before hand? Had you researched what all dyno does to the pump before you sent? Sounds like you might be the one mistaken.

I'm going to call them Monday when they open. I did talk to them when they had my pump and discussed what truck I was putting it in and my plans for the truck. It's nothing that can't be fixed just got me a little frustrated.

Did you send in a SRP 1.1 to get converted to a Honey Badger Sr? Not familiar with the SRP pump but do they already come with -08 threads? Why can't you go to a hydraulic shop and get -08 ORB to -06AN/JIC male fittings?

It was the older version before Stealth came out with the 1.1. I'm not real familiar with the SRP pumps other than what I've read about them on forums but came across a used one awhile back and heard about Dyno Proven taking them in and converting them to the Honey Badger SR. At this point I am contemplating on whether to get new lines with STC fittings or go to my local hydraulic shop when they open Monday and get the JIC fittings I need to -08 ORB. I'm thinking sticking with the JIC fittings is probably better but just looking for insight on it.

Either you're going to change the fittings on the pump or on the heads.....one or the other. I would personally stick with JIC fitting. With STC fittings, you're going to need to carry the tool with you in case you blow a HPO hose. JIC fittings are more common than STC fittings.

so where does one research to find out what dyno proven does to the SRP when you send it in?
I am very curious about the topic and have never seen this info

All SRP and SRP1.1 pumps came with bored out fittings to 08 ORB. This was to increase oil volume and to try and prevent a fitting blow out. The STC fittings can blow out under extreme high pressure use so it's usually better to stick with a JIC. Any hydro shop will have the JIC fitting you're looking for. Obviously someone didn't listen to what you were doing.

Probably swap out the sleeved piston block to a bigger unit like the SRP 1.1 and stroked swash plate. Only so much you can do in a stock housing. Don't know why all of this stuff is such a secret, unless you have a CNC machine and a few hundred bucks in special tools and the know how it's better to buy the pump from someone who knows how to make one. Be nice if they'd tell you the details on what you spend a bunch of money on. There are a few threads on an Adrenaline pump floating around and you can see first hand the mods they do. Stealth posted pictures of what they did. Don't forget your $40 HPOP stud kit because HPOP bolts back off so much!

I wonder if there ever will be a time when nutswingers will STFU and a factual discussion will be possible on the topic. you know with photos of what actually works and what fails.
all I have ever found is broken springs and the rear cover retainer failing, other then one person posting what looked like a lack of lube taking out the swash.

Got the fittings I needed and Dyno Proven even reimbursed me for the cost of the fittings. They were very stand up about it and all is good now.
