Going over a checklist of parts and tools for my HPOP replacement I need to literally fly in and do then leave. Maybe on a 2400 mile trip in the truck.....

So here is my checklist so far:

HPOP
HPOP mounting gasket
HPOP reservior gasket
New IPR
New hoses HPOP to head
New 3/8 and 5/16 fuel hose for stock fuel bowl What hose? I usually go to the industrial hose store but may not be possible.
Oil and oil filter (in case of contamination from HPOP failure)
silicone for bolt cover

Did I forget anything?

Some sort of razor and wire brush for the bolt cover to clean the old silicone off.. I'm sure you know this just running it by you.

Torque wrench.

Breaker bar with socket to fit on harmonic balancer bolt.

Good luck !

I also put a cheater bar on the breaker bar to wedge it against the driveway so I could do it myself

New fuel line rubber "o-rings" they are more like 1/4" pieces of hose.

You don't have to remove the HPOP reservior to replace the pump.

Also, when you remove the front cover plate, there is a groove in the timing cover. I used an o-ring to fit in the groove and eliminated the RTV.

I also Lock-tite the HPOP bolt for extra security.

I got the hose from dieselorings, blue diesel rated. I know he was having trouble sourcing one of the sizes and I just used the same size on both with 0 issues now in about 3 years

The blue hoses are 3/8" from tank-to-pump, pump-to-bowl, and bowl-to-pump. The 5/16" is for the bowl drain and the FPR-to-tank. I got mine from Diesel O-Rings with the fuel injection clamps option. Cheers!

Thanks for all the replies folks! Really helps with the thinking. Good tip on bracing the breaker bar to break loose the hpop bolt. I have a pretty full set of tools at home, but makes me a little nervious my rollaway and my road call box are up here so I gotta plan ahead a little......

Planned on new HPO hoses since that my first thoughy of what failed. Any reason not to get the Dyno Proven ones?

Best place to get an IPR?

Last time I was looking I thought I wasn't going to get to E fuel before the fuel lines from heads to regulator let go. Anyone source them lately or buld them? I won't getto e fuel for a while now.

I always like to have on hand the O-rings for the HPOP fittings.

If you need an IPR riffraff has them priced pretty well and its an actual ford part not some knockoff.
