rundown...2003. 145k. ...had a bunch of work done here in houston at PSM...so far ive had the typical studs, egr x and new oil cooler, intake, exhaust, elite coolant line kit, and ams-oil bypass kit about 6000 miles ago. in this time ive added an airdog 150, the fuel pressure spring update kit (last weekend) and put the updated degas cap on it that has the bigger spring...today i headed to galveston and on the way back i pushed on er a lil bit and we cruised about 80-85 to clean a little carbon out of it...had the a/c on low and the windows up. Got that bad feeling that i smelled coolant...got back to the house and popped the hood..3 white lines around the degas...the new degas cap i purchased from ford with the bigger spring like for the 6.4...tightens down pretty tight then clicks. is this one supposed to click? this is the first time ive EVER had this problem and i never figured i would - the truck hasnt really been drove hard - quite a few WOT runs but never pulled a heavy load, just basically a daily driver - x-street innovative tune loaded - ...another thing. when i did the fuel pressure spring kit, i took the upper radiator hose off and lost a little coolant - refilled it the next day (premium gold) just below the minimum mark at an idle - please give me some of yalls insight on what could be going on here...please tell me it could be the cap, or if i put too much coolant in it...which i figured i didnt. :wtf:

the fill line should be 1/4 below the min line when its bone cold. when my truck is warm there is hardly any coolant in the degas.

so did it just puke a little up from the wot run? it was right at the minimum mark...i just dont want to believe the head gaskets are gone with studs..the truck has been driven harder than that before...that was just an overdrive pull from about 50 to 85...

I'd bet your hg's are fine. Make sure your coolant levels ok and run it. If it starts to eat coolant or continues to puke i'd be worried, but like I said i bet your fine.
