Well, I've officially started my winter project.

My 1994 F350 is in desperate need of a bunch of stuff, including a new PCM, glow plugs, injectors, and complete exhaust. It needs the oil cooler and some oil leaks taken care of too.

So, I decided that the easiest way to do this would be to pull the cab and bed and approach it from there. I got the bed pulled off in about an hour today, and have been working at the cab for an hour now. I came in for a break. Hopefully this isn't harder than it looks!! I haven't messed with the cab bolts now, mainly pulling the bumper and hood, and looking at all the electrical connections I'll have to mess with.

I have my new AC injectors, 4" MBRP exhaust here and my pcm shows up soon. I got a Jody's 60hp tow in the PCM (it's a manual so the shift strategy is not a problem).

Pics to come soon!!

Cab was easy on my 97, I left the bumper & hood on tho, take the cab bolts out, brake master cylinder off, ac pump, unhook the grounds, and complete engine wire harness. Their might be a few other little things I can't remember only took about 45min to an hour to get it in the air.

You must have had a lift.....

There's more it than you mentioned, the steering coupler, clutch master cylinder, e brake lines, shifter in the cab. Its not too bad so far, I'm excited to be getting it off soon. I stopped for dinner and can't do anymore with the impact wrench tonight with the kids going to bed.

I don't really understand why your pulling the cab, all that stuff is pretty easy to get to with the cab on.

No ? if you got the cab up you might as well do headstuds, P-rods, and springs. Also, I would do o-rings on the turbo and the hpop. While your there make sure and check up pipes too.

The up pipe is the biggest reason to pull the cab. I am planning on pulling the turbo and doing O rings there.

The bed had to come off anyway, as I want to sandblast and repaint it. Maybe it is harder the way I'm doing it, but it looks easier from where I'm sitting.

I'd do it your way too. You might find stuff you couldn't see or over looked besides you can clean stuff and paint things with it apart. Just my 2 cents

Much easier to pull the turbo and do motor work with the cab gone.....

I used two railroad jacks to lift it, they are like high lift jacks but rated at 8ton.

And yes I know that it doesnt look safe and looks like a redneck did it but I did what I had to do with what I had laying around. It worked and the cab and everything is back on the truck.

Is your middle cab mount the rear spring shackle? That's what it looks like in your second picture.

I toyed with the idea of doing a 4wd conversion at the same time but am leaning away from it.

The frame is in great shape. So is the cab really. I've been out of town for work and done nothing on this, but I should post pics of where I'm at.

Maybe I can thank my oil leak for the goos shape of the frame!

Well the cab is off and I'm very glad I did it. There were two electrical connections, steering shaft, brake lines, e brake, and a few other things that needed taken off, but it was surprisingly fast to do it. I spent most of my time fighting with the cab bolts becuase I couln't hold the wrench and impact wrench at the same time.

There's a 4" mbrp system sitting over at work. I might start on that tomorrow. I decided to go ahead and order a full set if energy suspension bushings for everything while I'm here, and going to pull the turbo and reseal everything there.

I just had LASIK, so I'll probably not work too hard or do anything risky even a little bit for a day or two.
