I have a Superduty set up on mine. The factory wastegate is going to require a lot more firewall work. Mine is deleted and pinned shut. I have the 1.0 housing and do not think there is an issue but I live at altitude.

Is there any gains to running the superduty setup? I was thinking about changing over to it too a year ago or so but people told me it wasn't worth the hassle.

I'm changing my setup to the SD style. Planning on going to a 38r later. I took the .84 wastegated housing off and put the OBS 1.15 housing on for now. Not being used right now, engine ALL apart getting rebuilt. Was going use the stock turbo for a break in turbo. Bad idea?

There is if you plan on running a turbo like the 38r. With all the available mount options out now though, I would honestly lean towards a different setup, depending on what your plans are. I ran a 38r on my OBS several years ago. It worked well and was fun as all get out on the street. Just was limited to that charger and had no room to grow.

What is your reasoning behind wanting a wastegate? I wouldn't think that with your current setup it would be needed...

I agree with this as there are a lot of options out there now. I will say all my parts going this route are factory quality.

You won't be able to hear the wastegate, it dumps inside the exhaust.

Are you referring to a blow-off valve like you hear on Ricer cars?

no my brothers superduty has a rushing air kinda sound that it makes after getting off the throtle

That's air escaping back out of the turbocharger compressor that the motor can't use...most refer to it as turbo bark or surge.
