I would say it's time for a new intercooler

This has always annoyed me since I got the truck.

New cooler? Or should I try one of the tools from auto store that bends them back straight?

that design does not look like you can run a fin comb through it

if those vertical bars are not below the surface like the ones in this pic you would spend a long tme trying to open those up IMHO

So they make a tool that opens them up? I went to auto zone and asked and the guy looked at me like I was stupid.

They do but it won't work on the 6.4 intercoolers because the tubes are not below the surface like Zmann mentioned. Its a fin comb. Typically used on radiators and ac condensers.

Cheapest option is to get a flat piece of thin but ridged metal and make it the same thickness of the rows then sharpen it like a chisel and you can slide it between the fins and straighten them up. It is very time consuming but works good and after a while you will get into a rhythm. When I did this for a buddy of mine I got a steel butter knife and flattened the end and sharpened it and it worked really well.

I tried a little flat head screw driver and spent and hour on it. Got about 8inches down one line lol.

Coolers are expensive! Good thing my b day is in a few weeks :)
