Just finished installing my Icon lift with fox 2.0 shocks and wanted to give a quick review and some highlights of the install as well as some pictures.
First off, like many who have tread before me, the instructions are pretty poor. I received general instructions for the front install, shocks, and track bar. No instructions for the rear, or the radius arm brackets. My big gripe was with the radius arm brackets. They are no doubt beefy, but with no instructions installation was quite confusing as you have to drill holes in the frame for the rear bolts on the bracket. There was no mention of this from the kit description as "100%" bolt on to me means just that.
Also had to ditch the transfer case skid plate, since it would have interfered with the drop bracket mounting points. Again, no mention of this at all. Something I would expect from a higher end lift.
On to some pics.
Un boxing, packing was good and nothing was damaged or missing. I was a bit disappointing that I didn't receive a cool Fox decal. Im a bit of a sticker whore though...
Brackets installed, you can see my shoe print from pushing on it to get it to sit flush against the frame, driver side sat nice and flush.
Purdy new parts installed.
Track bar comparison.
On the way to my alignment, just a bit off...
A pic stock next to my other daily driver. Only one I could find of it stock ha.
Heres a pic of my wheels and tries with a 2.5 inch ready lift leveling kit.
And heres the big pay off. Need to put my lug nut covers back on.
Overall for a lifted truck and big stiff mud tires, it rides pretty darn awesome. Cant wait to go find some dirt roads and see how she does with all the washboard crap we have around here.
Question though, for the rear shocks should I have installed the big side up or down, or does it matter?
