Installing new pedestal and turbo, chasing an oul leak comin from valley, thought it was pedestal for sure. But now that its all apart im not to sure, figured i see more drips from were it ataxhes to block. In the valley the middle 2 gullys have oil in them, oil down back of block, drippin on starter and fly wheel. I know sign is from valley and rear main is very uncommon with these engines....any ofher ideas....what else could leak uo there in valley or back of motor thats hard to see???? Also very weird, truck sits in garage I only drive it on sundays if im lucky...sometimes it wont leak for 2 weeks..them i go in there and theres a few drops on the cement, not consistent

Just curious but could it be a small fuel leak? I only ask because after we pulled my whole engine and resealed everything I was still getting a small leak in the valley and dripping down just like yours. Come to find out it was a slight fuel leak coming for the factory fuel filter housing. It was a combo of the filter, a line, and a sensor. I had to get a light and stare at the engine running for a few mins to find the leaks. Just an idea to check. Hope you figure it out fairly easy

I would clean the engine real good then you have a clean area to look for fresh oil.

Magnum...I will, gonna tape up the intake and pedestal holes and clean the hell out of it,
Ncollins, funny you say that a few months ago i thought i had a big oil leak..turned out to be a fuel leak...fuel bowl drain. The fuel was leaking and mixing with the crap in valley and at first i thought it was oil until i seen it steadily leaking. I am 99% sure it is oil this time, good thought though.

HPOP leaking? I don't know the full story but I was loosing oil pretty readily and took it to the shop turned out my HPOP was leaking around its seal and they opened it up it was shot.

To end the story on a highnote: I was out of town at the time and they replaced it with an OEM one.... for $200 more than a terminated....

Dang I hate to hear that.

OP clean the chit out if it and check the valley daily. I had to do the same thing to mine but it turned out to be old oil and fuel from some mods during install.

Op, check the 11/16" plug on the back of the HPOP. If it's loose, remove the plug and replace the O ring. Check the HPOP fittings as well.

It could also be the plug on the bottom of the hpop that faces down on the passenger side. You have to remove the pump to fix it.

I would go with what Joey says. Good place to start. Start with the easy stuff first.

You guys gonna have a laugh at this question but...hpop is mounted under fuel bowl correct? If it is what I think it is, all dry, front part of valley is completely dry, checked all the braided hoses goin into covers, dry no leaks. Now that I have about 200 miles on truck after turbo and pedestal install, i believe the leak I originally posted in this link is fixed, i had the valley so clean you could eat off it. No oil in the back of valley anymore. It must have been EBPV or the bottom of pedestal. What I have now or maybe its the same thing Im chasin from before but now everything is clean, In the middle of the valley a little behind X pipe, it is wet, i cant tell if its oil or fuel cause its not puddling i scraped it with a rag taped to end of screwdriver i cant tell. But there is no sign of it on the sides leaking down to middle of valley. Kind of feel like its getting pushed by the rubber boots cause i have some oil inside IC pipes, most likely from ccv vent.
