I've seen people use green loctite and red 262 loctite. I just did cups on an 02 and two weeks later there is a small fuel into coolant leak..

The green loctite I used just basically runs off the cup when you apply it.. I let the cups sit over night to seal up.

I'm thinking about using the red 262 this go around. Any suggestions?

I used the green loctite "stick" and it applied nice and didn't run off. Was like using a crayon. Haven't had any problems since.

Are you sure it isn't residual fuel being flushed out?

I assume you did them in the truck? Did you run into any problems and how do you know when the cups are seated? (I have to do mine)

I haven't seen the stick... I'll have to check into it. Thanks And I flushed the cooling system and the truck has been doing great for two weeks, it's coming back out of the degas bottle again.

Yes I did them in the truck... You will know for sure when their seated, you'll hear it and see it. And I didn't not run into any problems, I took the duct work off to make it easier on the passenger side.

This is what I used and have heard to use. Hasn't leaked since.

262 is a high strength thread locker, great for bolts and it may work for the cups, but 620 is a retaining compound, similar idea as the "stick" but in a thicker liquid form, designed to retain things.

Ive always gotten cups from Jim at Rosewood . They are 10 a piece last time i bought from him. Ive used the 262 loctite on the last set of cups i did and they are holding great, had to redo mine because when i first did them found sealant didnt stay where i put it and iused the green loctite they call for.
