How big of a job is it to do injector o-rings? Mine needs them bad. I'm capable of pulling the valve covers off done it a few times just not sure on procedure of removing injectors and doing o rings. Would it be adviseable to do cups while I'm in there too? Just looking for some tips and instructions.

Thanks guys.

Just oil it up good and slide it down with your finger tips. Not hard at all. A pair of angle cutters makes a good tool for pulling the old copers off.

we used a breaker bar and turned the motor over with the GP's out as well.

Yes, I like to put the vc's back on with a couple of bolts and after turning it over by hand a couple of times you can turn it over with the starter for 10 seconds or so. Do that a couple times with the glow plugs out and the injector harnes unplugged and you will get a jump start on priming the oil rails without the additional load of compression on the starter. Then hook everything back up and crank to start.

so that would eliminate the step of filling the oil rails?

I have never manually filled the oil rails. So long as you have good batteries and a good starter you can just crank it to fill the rails.

Its just like changing injectors. Get any injector install how to - and then add in the "changing o-rings" part and install your old sticks with new o-rings. I never pull the oil rail plugs under the valve covers - I just bolt the valve covers down with the injectors installed and the glow plugs removed and turn it over by hand for a couple of revolutions, then by key for a couple of resolutions and the oil will be out of the cylinders. Install the glow plugs, button everything up under the valve covers, loosen an oil rail plug on each rail outside of the valve covers, crank until you get oil, tighten the plug, and start the truck. Done.

Don't forget the valve covers with a couple of bolts hand tight. If you forget that, you will squirt oil all over the ceiling. If you are outside, you will squirt it on you neighbors roof. Also, there is no need to unplug the injector harness. Just leave the large connector on the driver side valve cover disconnected. No power will get to anything with it unplugged.
