Injector oil returns?

I have a truck in the shop right now that the injectors are missing the oil returns on. I'm talking about the little aluminum returns from the top of the body of the injector that shoots the oil back down to the head. Will it hurt anything to leave it like this? Guy doesnt want to spend anymore than he has too and needs it done asap. Thanks guys!

cant hurt a thing, think its to avoid direct spray towards the valve cover to mimimize leaks? But i do not know for sure

Kind of what I was thinking. I can have the truck done today if I dont need them.
