I replaced my # 2 today as I had/have a contribution code that graduated to a missfire code (at idle). Everything was fine under load on the highway..got no codes what so ever....got the contribution code at light throttle and the missfire at idle. So I swapped out the injector. First thing I noticed that was odd is when I was taking the injector hold down off the injector was coming up with it. I was able to take the injector out with 2 fingers. Strange but thought maybe the o-ring was bad. I replaced it with a new injector with new o-rings and so on. I press it into place and there is plenty of movement side to side. I can actually take this injector out with my fingers as well. I had a torpedo level across all four and they were all the same height. So I know it was seated. Not until I tighented the hold down did the injector have no play what so ever.. Is this a bad injector cup?

Or is it a non-issue....(yeah right)

Jason, They just like 6.0's always come up as I am taking off the hold down. Not like the 7.3 injectors you have to pry out. I have seen very few of the cups on the 6.4's go bad. If it has no play once seated I would not worry about it. Did you look down in the cup with a light when you had it out and notice any distortion or anything?

Thanks Rykan.....I am 7.3 through and through and thought it odd when I didn't have to beat it in place. Eveything looked good inside.

Thanks again bud!!!!!

exactly. Injector hold down is notched so as you tighten the hold down back in place, it will secure the injector. seems like you should be good to go
